Cool people/things coming in the next few months.

Feb 13th- The Temptations

At the Warner theater.Though I think only one of them is still alive and singing, I’m sure it’d be interesting. Just not THAT interesting. Check it out if you like hanging out with annoying baby boomers who think they’re the only people who know their songs.

Mar. 7 – Motley Crue w/ Hinder and Theory

At the Erie Civic center. I’m not gunna pretend that I like or know who Hinder or Theory are, but Motley Crue fucking rules. So go see this- but it’s probably overpriced or something, and the idea of Motley Crue is somewhat funnier and more interesting than actually going to see them.

Mar. 29th- Lewis Black

At the Warner theater. Probably still as funny as he’s ever been- though that show he did on Comedy Central is complete garbage. Though the theater might be full of annoying fratboys and teenage girls who think they’re brilliant because they understand satire. I don’t know if middle-aged Temptations fans would be worse or not.

Feb 7th- The Erie Ron Paul Meetup.

Just kidding. This isn’t cool.

But goto it if you think that a bunch of potheads talking about how cool Ron Paul is is your thing. The man doesn’t believe in evolution.

Mar 17th. – Morrissey

Carnegie Music Hall- Pittsburgh PA. Tickets are 45 dollars. WORTH IT. Pretty cheap for Morrissey, old lead singer of the Smiths

Feb 14th- The English Beat

Rex Theater- Pittsburgh, PA.  Tickets are 20 dollars. ALSO WORTH IT!!

mar 29th- Glen TilBrook

Glen Tilbrook at The Hard Rock Cafe in Pittsburgh, you may know him from Squeeze. If you don’t think you know Squeeze, you probably know the song “Tempted”, which is a pretty lame song. Look up their other stuff. Cool for Cats was recently put in the video game Rock Band.

Feb-sometime- Steve Burns

You may know him from Blues Clues – he’s coming for the premire of the Flaming Lips movie. EUP film series will be bringing him to Edinboro, along with the director of the movie. The movie is called “Christmas on Mars”

Tons and tons of snow..

January 28, 2009

The snow that fell during the night at Erie International Airport has pushed the 2008-09 snowfall season into the No. 10 spot on record.

Still- students trudge through the snow and cars slide down 79 going 30 miles per hour to make it to classes at Edinboro on time.

Kind of complete bullshit, every teacher today is saying they would have appreciated a cancellation today. You can either admire Jeremy Brown’s persistence for education, or think he’s a complete moron for not cancelling today. I love Brown- but today should have been called off. What do I know, though? My years here have been with Pogue, who cancelled all the time and never did anything for the school.

Erie’s snow total for the season now stands at 116.2 inches, edging ahead of the previous No. 10, which was 115.9 inches in the 1963-64 snow season.
