Dr. Terry Collins, Green Chemistry: Sustaining a High Technology Civilization, 7:00 p.m., Frank G. Pogue Student Center. Dr. Terry Collins leads the Institute for Green Science at Carnegie Mellon University. The Institute is a research, education and development center where a holistic approach to green or sustainable chemistry is being developed, focused on pollution reduction. Student Philanthropy Day Event – Comedy of Ben Hague, 6:00 p.m., Cooper Hall, room 102. Admission is free to Edinboro students with valid ID. Ben Hague started writing comedy at the age of 16 while in high school. After attending acting school in New York City, he took the stage at the World Famous Laugh Factory in Los Angeles where he began his stand up career. Within just a few years he’s become a college and club headliner throughout the country and has worked with some of the biggest names in comedy such as, Dane Cook, Dave Attel, Gilbert Gottfried, Dom Irrera, Louis CK, Jim Norton, Robert Kelly , and many others. Ben won the 2006 Catch a “New’ Rising Star competition, and as a result made the cover of “POINT” magazine for their first issue of the 2007 year. This event is free to Edinboro students w/ID; $5.00 for all others. All proceeds benefit the Students Fundraising campaign: Brown Goes Green, to help secure an outdoor green space for students. In addition, students who make a donation to the student campaign will receive a Brown Goes Green button and can then attend the post-event reception at the Alumni House.
