For once, well maybe not for ONCE, but recently- Edinboro University did something cool.

Not only is it more eco-smart, it makes you feel like you're not in gradeschool anymore. You'll feel like you are again as soon as you're done eating, though.
They boast about being green so much, but I don’t see any progress, really. I mean, the “no smoking” policy could be kind of considered “going green”, except it’s kind of bullshit. They DO have separate trash cans for paper/plastic and “trash”, but I don’t see that going anywhere fast, especially since they selectively place them around campus. In the rose cafeteria you have two or three unmarked trash cans unmarked for the sole purpose of throwing anything you want inside of them. I have no problem with this, but if you’re going to do something, do it right.
BUT- I always wondered why Van Houten just ditched their trays. According to one of the links I posted in the “going green” dining services, eliminating the trays at Van Houten saved Edinboro thousands and thousands of dollars, eliminated tons of water/soapy liquid use and so on. So maybe they were just trying to save money, but it also does make the university a bit more eco-friendly. That’s always a good thing.
So good job, Edinboro. Though Chartwells dining seems a bit suspicious about why their coffee is so expensive because 25 cents a cup is “donated”. I didn’t see exactly what it’s being donated to, I just read “Donated”, someone correct me if you know.
So yeah! Good job Edinboro!
