Thanks to ErieBlogs for alerting me to this.. When I first read this, I nearly fell off my chair, I was so surprised! I just posted the video to Clevelands tourism contest video last week, what a coincidence!

Submission rights:
If I want to be in this contest, I must give CATV full rights to my material. They can use it in any way that they want, do anything they want with it, and I have no say in the matter. CATV and any affiliate of CATV will have access to this material “for eternity” and use it any way they want to. Not only that, but they can make derivative works from my piece. Any money gained by this now belongs to CATV, and I agree to this. This material is no longer mine. I have no defense, no matter how they use it. If they see fit to air it on TV with clipart of a piece of shit, and goofy text around it saying “what a smelly awful video”, I’m fine with this. I have no defense. Also, use my name anyway you feel like it. I will not benefit from this.
OK, that’s all well and good, I .. I guess. So lets get to those prizes!
Lets…. lets get to…
the.. lets get to the prizes……
WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!

You’re telling me you want an original piece of work to help promote your station, 1-5 minutes long, for FREE?!
No, no, it says prizes will be determined. Wh-wh-what? So what, a tshirt? Even a brand new PS3 or something goofy isn’t fit for this deal.
FOR ETERNITY.
Also, their Web site looks straight outta Angelfire, complete with boring Times font in RGB, the same repeated clip art and poor alignment. These guys are obviously looking for a lazy, free way of making a commercial. We all know how the Edinboro commercial contest turned out, and I’m thinking CATV won’t be getting any masterpieces either.
