Spectator Best of the Decade debacle

OK, Actually I don’t care about anything on this list but the following:

Declaring the White Stripes’ album “Elephant.” at the number 1 position.

Other than a handful of songs, I haven’t heard most of this album. But even so, I don’t think it even belongs on any top 10 list. About anything. Even if the list was top 10 White Stripes albums.

But this has nothing to do with the number one pick. This has to do with numbers 5 and 6.

Tom Waits barely beats out “Lil Wayne”.

W…what?

How.. How could you ever .. what the hell? Even if this plug for Lil Wayne is sarcastic, it’s not funny. It’s stupid.

Hasan Odom’s new Earthshine commercial

Hasan eating a cookie on a bench. What?

Hasan Odom graduated from Edinboro last year, but just because he moved away doesn’t mean that he isn’t giving back to the community. Check out this rad commercial he recently finished up for Earthshine:

I’m definitely digging that smooth animation.

Hopefully Earthshine sells Ace Bandages, because I’m still gushing puss and blood from the last ten seconds of the commercial, when the female voice actor grew a weiner and raped my ears with it. Holy crap. In fact the last ten seconds of the commercial sounded a lot more like an order and a lot less like a suggestion. Please don’t hurt me, Earthshine.

That’s distracting from the point here, and the point is that Hasan Odom is one talented m-f’er.

If you live in Edinboro and own a television set, I’m sure you’re aware of his work already.

According to his site, Hasan did the characters, sets and animations in all of these videos. Nice.

Over the summer, Hasan was featured on the popular Flash showcase website Cold Hard Flash for his commercial parody “Balzer’s Automatic Banana Peeler”

Rock on, Hasan.

I can’t wait to see more of your stuff on TV.

An Evening with Colin and Brad

Coming to a Louis C. Cole auditorium near you: Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood!

Let’s pray to God they don’t do a fucking “hoe down“.

Colin Mochrie is a pretty funny guy- but I’m not sure anyone was ever a fan of Brad Sherwood. If only we could have gotten Ryan Stiles to perform with him, instead.

Here’s some information about where to get tickets, etc:

Edinboro student tickets will go on sale Oct. 26, followed by sales to the general public at noon on Oct. 28. Students with valid Edinboro ID cards can purchase tickets for $15; public general admission tickets are $25 and will be available until Nov. 20 at www.edinboroticket.com or at the Edinboro University Student Government Association Convenience Store in the Frank G. Pogue Student Center. After Nov. 20, all tickets will cost $30. Doors open at 7 p.m.
